1212 A RESOLUTION to recognize Assistant Chief Andy Lewallen of
1313 the Oneida Police Department and Scott County
1414 Sheriff's Office on the occasion of his retirement.

1616 WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should honor
1717 those citizens who have performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm throughout their
1818 careers in law enforcement; and
1919 WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Andy Lewallen is one such estimable individual, who has
2020 devoted his life to the preservation of law and order and the protection of his fellow citizens; and
2121 WHEREAS, after forty-eight years of distinguished service to the Oneida Police
2222 Department and Scott County Sheriff's Office, Assistant Chief Lewallen recently took a much-
2323 deserved retirement, having dedicated himself to the highest tenets of public service and law
2424 enforcement throughout his career; and
2525 WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Lewallen is an active and important part of his community
2626 and profession, participating in numerous worthy organizations and lending his support to many
2727 civic endeavors; and
2828 WHEREAS, during his retirement party, he was honored by friends and family, with 911
2929 dispatch completing his last call over the radio, thus ending the career he began in 1976; and
3030 WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Lewallen has performed his duties with professionalism and
3131 integrity, helping his fellow citizens in any way that he could and proving himself time and again
3232 to be a tremendous asset to Oneida and Scott County; and
3333 WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Lewallen exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to community
3434 that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and
3535 WHEREAS, throughout his estimable career, Assistant Chief Lewallen demonstrated the
3636 utmost ability and honor, winning the sincere respect and admiration of his colleagues and the
3737 citizens of Oneida and Scott County; now, therefore,

4242 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
4343 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
4444 CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Assistant Chief Andy Lewallen on his exemplary
4545 career with the Oneida Police Department and Scott County Sheriff's Office and extend to him
4646 our best wishes for much continued success and happiness in his retirement.
4747 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
4848 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
4949 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
5050 without House or Senate designation.
