A RESOLUTION to commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of 
the U.S. Army Reserve Officers Training Corps 
at Middle Tennessee State University. 
 
 WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) is celebrating 
seventy-five years of duty and service at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU); and 
 WHEREAS, the MTSU Army ROTC Military Science Department has commissioned 
more than 1,575 officers into all branches of the United States Army, significantly contributing to 
our nation's defense and leadership; and 
 WHEREAS, the MTSU Army ROTC detachment has twice been recognized as the 
number-one Army ROTC detachment in our nation, exemplifying excellence in military training 
and education; and 
 WHEREAS, the MTSU ROTC program provided the origin of the MTSU Aerospace 
Program and the provision of flight training on campus, thus furthering the advancement of 
aviation education and contributing to the aerospace industry; and 
 WHEREAS, the dedication, commitment, and achievements of the MTSU Army ROTC 
cadets and alumni are worthy of recognition and celebration; now, therefore,  
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED 
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE 
CONCURRING, that we commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of the U.S. Army Reserve 
Officers Training Corps at Middle Tennessee State University, celebrate the significant 
contributions and achievements of the MTSU Army ROTC cadets and alumni, and applaud the 
program's continued efforts in training our future leaders.

 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
