12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Robert Cooke Irwin of
13	13	Knoxville.

15	15	WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
16	16	the passing of Robert Cooke "Bob" Irwin; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Bob Irwin was a beloved friend and neighbor who did his utmost to improve
18	18	the well-being of all who were blessed to know him; and
19	19	WHEREAS, born on May 13, 1951, in Knoxville, Mr. Irwin was the son of Gordon and
20	20	Cookie Irwin; he graduated from Seymour High School in 1969; and
21	21	WHEREAS, a man of many passions, Bob Irwin was an avid golfer, camper, and
22	22	University of Tennessee Volunteers fan; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Mr. Irwin had a way with words and was renowned among his family and
24	24	friends for being a gifted storyteller; and
25	25	WHEREAS, he was also deeply devoted to his family and always endeavored to remain
26	26	true to family values of the highest order; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Mr. Irwin is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Brenda Irwin; brother,
28	28	Thomas Irwin; daughters, Heidi (Larry) Householder and Holli (Marques) Williams;
29	29	stepdaughter, Denise Shockley; grandchildren, Taylor Swaney, Chase Ingle, Kingston Williams,
30	30	Colbi Mitchell, Kiley Mitchell, and Kinsley Caris; great-granddaughter, Huntleigh Swaney; and a
31	31	host of cousins and friends; and
32	32	WHEREAS, throughout his many worthy endeavors, Bob Irwin distinguished himself as
33	33	a beacon of kindness and wisdom; and
34	34	WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should pay tribute to the bountiful life of this exceptional
35	35	Tennessean; now, therefore,

40	40	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
41	41	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
42	42	CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Robert Cooke "Bob" Irwin, reflecting fondly upon
43	43	his ability to live the examined life with courage and conviction.
44	44	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we extend our sympathy and condolences to the
45	45	family and friends of Mr. Irwin.
46	46	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
47	47	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
48	48	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
49	49	without House or Senate designation.
