| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-1-201, provides for the creation of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the fish and wildlife commission; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-1-201(a), further provides that the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | governor shall appoint nine (9) members to the commission; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Hanes Torbett to serve on the fish and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | wildlife commission; subject to confirmation, Mr. Torbett will serve a term that expires on |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | February 28, 2030; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Hanes Torbett is one of the most successful insurance brokers in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Tennessee, providing financial services, employee benefits consulting, and brokerage services |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to his clients; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, committed to helping families achieve financial security, Mr. Torbett also |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | works as a broker for employers on benefit plan design, healthcare data analysis, and the use of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | technology in insurance and employee benefits; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, he has been honored with the 2021 President's Inner Circle qualification, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | George B. Pearson Sales Leadership Award, and Wall of Fame Award with Ohio National Life |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Insurance Company; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Torbett currently serves his fellow citizens on the Tennessee sports |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | wagering council and is a former member of the Tennessee historical commission; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Relations from the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | University of North Carolina; and |

| 39 | 39 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Torbett is an avid sportsman, hunter, and outdoorsman who is well- |

| 40 | 40 | | informed on the subject of the conservation of game animals, birds, and fish in the state; and |

| 41 | 41 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Torbett's experience and dedication to wildlife and conservation issues |

| 42 | 42 | | will be a tremendous asset to the fish and wildlife commission; and |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-1-201(b)(1), provides that the |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | members appointed to the fish and wildlife commission by the governor shall be confirmed by |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | the committee of the house of representatives having jurisdiction over such matter and the |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | energy, agricultural and natural resources committee of the senate and by joint resolution of the |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | general assembly; now, therefore, |
