1313 A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Annie Dockery to
1414 the standards recommendation committee for
1515 English language arts.

1717 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312, creates a standards
1818 recommendation committee for English language arts; and
1919 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(a), provides that the
2020 governor shall appoint four members to the standards recommendation committee for English
2121 language arts; and
2222 WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Annie Dockery to serve on such committee
2323 for a term that expires on December 31, 2025; and
2424 WHEREAS, Annie Dockery began her teaching career at Hardin Valley Academy in
2525 Knoxville, where she taught College Prep and Honors English; she currently serves as an
2626 educator with Maryville City Schools, where she has taught at both the middle school and high
2727 school levels; and
2828 WHEREAS, she is a 2020 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; and
2929 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(b), provides that all
3030 appointments to the committee "shall be subject to confirmation by the senate and the house of
3131 representatives"; now, therefore,
3232 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
3333 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
3434 CONCURRING, that we confirm the appointment of Annie Dockery to the standards
3535 recommendation committee for English language arts for a term that expires on December 31,
3636 2025.
