14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of |

15 | 15 | | the passing of Don E. Boring; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Don Boring was an exemplary gentleman and consummate professional |
---|
17 | 17 | | who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens in numerous |
---|
18 | 18 | | capacities; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, from 1956 to 1989, Mr. Boring served with the Maryville Police Department, |
---|
20 | 20 | | ultimately retiring as Chief of Police; from 1989 to 1999, he served as Chief Deputy for the |
---|
21 | 21 | | Blount County Sheriff's Department, in which position he earned the respect of his colleagues |
---|
22 | 22 | | and community alike for the exemplary quality of his work; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Don Boring was an active and devout member of the Kerbela Shriners, a |
---|
24 | 24 | | Freemason, and a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church, which he served for many years; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Boring was also deeply devoted to his family, and he always |
---|
26 | 26 | | endeavored to remain true to family values of the highest order; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Don Boring was the proud father of Terry D. (Lori) Boring, Sherry (Chuck) |
---|
28 | 28 | | Blair, and Karen (Randy) Lamon; the grandfather of Olivia (Eric) Myers, Melissa (Charlie) |

29 | 29 | | Lindsey, Chelsea (Nick) Maute, Ryann Boring, and Chad (MacKenzie) Lamon; and the great- |

30 | 30 | | grandfather of ten great-grandchildren; and |

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Boring is further survived by his sisters, Laverne Copenhagen and |

40 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Boring loved fishing, tending to his backyard garden, and spending time |

41 | 41 | | with his grandchildren; and |

42 | 42 | | WHEREAS, Don E. Boring leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in |

43 | 43 | | public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all his chosen |

45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to |

46 | 46 | | remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore, |

47 | 47 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED |

48 | 48 | | FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE |

49 | 49 | | CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Don E. Boring, reflecting fondly upon his |

50 | 50 | | impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to living the examined life with courage and |

52 | 52 | | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences |
