1212 A RESOLUTION to recognize and congratulate Lee and Susan
1313 Moss upon their receipt of the Dr. Liz Rhea
1414 Philanthropist Award from the Ascension Saint
1515 Thomas Rutherford Foundation.

1717 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should acknowledge
1818 and applaud those estimable Tennesseans who have devoted themselves to serving their
1919 communities; and
2020 WHEREAS, two such individuals are Lee and Susan Moss, 2025 Rutherford Society
2121 Gala honorees and the recipients of the Dr. Liz Rhea Philanthropist Award from the Ascension
2222 Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation, an honor most befitting their unwavering commitment and
2323 significant contributions to their community; and
2424 WHEREAS, the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation will host its eighteenth
2525 annual Rutherford Society Gala on March 29, 2025, at the Stones River Country Club; the event
2626 will feature keynote speaker Inky Johnson, a former University of Tennessee football player
2727 turned motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and author; and
2828 WHEREAS, the Rutherford Society Gala celebrates philanthropic excellence and
2929 recognizes donors who have contributed $1,000 or more to the foundation; and
3030 WHEREAS, Lee Moss, a respected banking leader, spent twenty-eight years at
3131 SunTrust Bank, where he served as president of the Rutherford County market; he later
3232 became chairman and CEO of MidSouth Bank before becoming president of Franklin Synergy
3333 Bank; and
3434 WHEREAS, Mr. Moss's leadership has earned him numerous honors, including the 2004
3535 Jennings A. Jones Champion of Free Enterprise Award and being named the Rutherford County
3636 Chamber of Commerce's 2019 Business Legend of the Year; and

4141 WHEREAS, Susan Moss has been a steadfast partner to her husband, Lee Moss,
4242 offering unwavering support in both his professional and community pursuits; she is actively
4343 involved in Charity Circle, Bible Study Fellowship, and First United Methodist Church, where she
4444 participated in both the children's and adult choirs; and
4545 WHEREAS, together, Lee and Susan Moss have made significant contributions to their
4646 community, including a lead gift to expand the neonatal intensive care unit at Ascension Saint
4747 Thomas Rutherford Hospital, now named the Lee and Susan Moss Family NICU; their enduring
4848 commitment to service and philanthropy makes them deserving recipients of the Dr. Liz Rhea
4949 Philanthropist Award; and
5050 WHEREAS, Lee and Susan Moss have worked diligently to better the lives of their fellow
5151 citizens, and they are most worthy of our approbation; now, therefore,
5252 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
5353 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
5454 CONCURRING, that we recognize and congratulate Lee and Susan Moss upon their receipt of
5555 the Dr. Liz Rhea Philanthropist Award from the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation,
5656 extending our best wishes for much continued success and happiness in all their future
5757 endeavors.
5858 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5959 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
6060 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
6161 without House or Senate designation.
