15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of |

16 | 16 | | the passing of Robert William Fitzgerald; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Fitzgerald was an exemplary public servant and consummate |
---|
18 | 18 | | professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens in |
---|
19 | 19 | | numerous capacities; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Fitzgerald nobly served his country in the U.S. Army from August 4, |
---|
21 | 21 | | 1977, to September 6, 1977, and received an honorable discharge from Ft. Gordon, Georgia; |
---|
22 | 22 | | and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Fitzgerald served with acumen and alacrity as a firefighter with the City |
---|
24 | 24 | | of Franklin Fire Department from February 14, 1982, to September 1, 2007; promoted to the |
---|
25 | 25 | | rank of engineer in 1985, he earned the respect of his colleagues and community alike for the |
---|
26 | 26 | | exemplary quality of his work; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Fitzgerald was also deeply devoted to his family, and he always |
---|
28 | 28 | | endeavored to remain true to family values of the highest order; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Robert Fitzgerald enjoyed the loving companionship of his wife, Cynthia |
---|
30 | 30 | | Fitzgerald, and was the proud father of LaKeshia Fitzgerald, Robert Fitzgerald, Jr., and |
---|
31 | 31 | | Chadwick (Amy) Fitzgerald and grandfather of Jeremiah Scruggs, Keegen Scruggs, Jazzlyn |
---|
32 | 32 | | Sparkman, and Mason Fitzgerald; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, he is further survived by his sister, Mary Etta Curll; brothers, Charles |

34 | 34 | | Fitzgerald and John W. (Bernice) Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Theresa (Michael) Covington; |

35 | 35 | | brothers-in-law, James (Sylvia) Cunningham and John Caldwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, |

44 | 44 | | in public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all his |

46 | 46 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to |

47 | 47 | | remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore, |

48 | 48 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED |

49 | 49 | | FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE |

50 | 50 | | CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Robert William Fitzgerald, reflecting fondly upon |

51 | 51 | | his impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to living the examined life with courage |
