1212 A RESOLUTION to honor Penny Hardaway upon being selected
1313 as the American Athletic Conference's 2024-
1414 2025 Coach of the Year.

1616 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
1717 tribute to those excellent coaches who have led their players to success in athletic competition
1818 and in life; and
1919 WHEREAS, Coach Penny Hardaway has established himself as the head basketball
2020 coach at the University of Memphis and guided the Tigers to unprecedented heights of
2121 achievement; and
2222 WHEREAS, Penny Hardaway was named the American Athletic Conference's 2024-
2323 2025 Coach of the Year by his peers in recognition of his devoted instruction and success as
2424 the head basketball coach at the University of Memphis; and
2525 WHEREAS, Coach Hardaway led the Tigers to a 26-5 overall record and 16-2 mark in
2626 conference play on the way to Memphis's first regular season championship in the American
2727 Athletic Conference; and
2828 WHEREAS, Penny Hardaway has distinguished himself as a great coach, tactician, and
2929 motivator of young athletes, and this native Tennessean should be appropriately recognized;

3131 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
3232 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
3333 CONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate Penny Hardaway upon being named the
3434 American Athletic Conference's 2024-2025 Coach of the Year and extend to him our best
3535 wishes for much continued success both on and off the court.

4040 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
4141 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
