<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 390 By Warner HJR0390 005462 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor Meri M. Kaftan for her exemplary service to the Tennessee General Assembly. WHEREAS, it is appropriate that we should honor those valuable legislative employees who have performed with unwavering devotion and enthusiasm throughout their tenure with the General Assembly; and WHEREAS, Meri M. Kaftan, executive secretary for Representative Todd Warner, is one such estimable professional, who has been employed by the General Assembly since December 2021; and WHEREAS, Meri M. Kaftan is now departing the legislative complex to return to California and pursue a new opportunity as an employee with the California State Senate, having previously served as a legislative assistant in the California State Assembly; and WHEREAS, a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, Ms. Kaftan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from that august institution and earned a certificate as a freight broker/agent from Sonoma State University; and WHEREAS, prior to joining the staff of the General Assembly, Ms. Kaftan served as a correctional officer at the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center; her work history in California includes tenures with AutoNation Honda of Roseville, Wells Fargo Sacramento, and Meridian Pacific Sacramento; and WHEREAS, Meri Kaftan has demonstrated the utmost professionalism, ability, and integrity, winning the unbridled respect and admiration of her colleagues and the members of the General Assembly; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE - 2 - 005462 CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Meri M. Kaftan upon her exemplary service to the Tennessee General Assembly and wish her all the best in her new endeavor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
