12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Pam Oakes on her
13	13	selection as a 2024–2025 Jefferson County
14	14	Schools District Level Teacher of the Year and
15	15	the Piedmont Elementary School Teacher of the
16	16	Year.

18	18	WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
19	19	specially recognize those outstanding teachers who have devoted their careers to providing the
20	20	highest quality education for Tennessee's students; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Pam Oakes is one such estimable educator, who has distinguished herself
22	22	as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Mrs. Oakes has recently been named a 2024–2025 Jefferson County
24	24	Schools District Level Teacher of the Year and the Piedmont Elementary School Teacher of the
25	25	Year, most befitting honors that recognize the positive influence she has on so many young
26	26	lives; and
27	27	WHEREAS, a dedicated fifth-grade science and social studies teacher at Piedmont
28	28	Elementary for eighteen years, Mrs. Oakes is an extremely talented and compassionate
29	29	educator who continuously strives to refine her teaching methods and support student growth;
30	30	her data-driven approach has helped her students achieve remarkable success, including a
31	31	TVAAS growth index of 4.97 and a 97

33	33	percentile ranking in science statewide; and
34	34	WHEREAS, beyond academics, Pam Oakes enjoys incorporating real-world
35	35	experiences into her teaching; she and her husband have visited more than thirty national
36	36	parks, and she often shares personal stories—whether it is hiking rim to rim in the Grand
37	37	Canyon, summiting Half Dome in Yosemite, or experiencing an iceberg lake firsthand—to help
38	38	students connect lessons to the world around them; and

43	43	WHEREAS, Mrs. Oakes serves as an inspiration to her colleagues and students alike,
44	44	and her friendship and counsel are highly valued by those who are fortunate to know her; and
45	45	WHEREAS, Pam Oakes truly epitomizes the dedicated teacher who is wholly committed
46	46	to the highest ideals of public service and quality education for all, and she should be specially
47	47	recognized; now, therefore,
48	48	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
49	49	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
50	50	CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Pam Oakes on being chosen as a
51	51	2024–2025 Jefferson County Schools District Level Teacher of the Year and the Piedmont
52	52	Elementary School Teacher of the Year, commend her exceptional service to the children of
53	53	Tennessee, salute her professional expertise and personal excellence, and wish her all the best
54	54	in her future endeavors.
55	55	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
56	56	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
57	57	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
58	58	without House or Senate designation.
