A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Cooper Townley, 2025 
Salutatorian of Hardin County High School. 
 
 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay 
tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to 
academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and 
 WHEREAS, Cooper Townley is one such exceptional student, who was recently named 
Salutatorian of the 2025 graduating class at Hardin County High School; and 
 WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and 
steadfast commitment of time and talent, Mr. Townley has achieved outstanding academic 
success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country; 
and 
 WHEREAS, in his remarkable high school career, Cooper Townley has earned an 
exemplary grade point average while participating in numerous extracurricular activities, 
including student council, National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Vocational Honor 
Society, football, soccer, FCA, and Hopewell Baptist Church's student ministry; and 
 WHEREAS, Mr. Townley well exhibited his outstanding leadership skills and manifold 
talents as the reporter and president of the school chapter of the National Honor Society, the 
captain of the varsity football team, a Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association 
(TSSAA) Scholastic Merit Athlete for four years, a Courier Scholar Athlete, a delegate to Boys 
State, a delegate to the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association Youth Leadership Summit, 
a member of Hardin County High School's Youth Leadership program, and as an FAA-certified 
drone pilot; and

 WHEREAS, apart from his superlative scholastic endeavors, he has also generously 
given of his time to serve on the Hopewell Baptist Church Youth Missions Team, where he has 
assisted with various residential improvement and repair tasks and led youth camps; the 
Hopewell Baptist Church Media Team, where he acts as a technology media specialist for 
Sunday events; and VOLS, where he and other Hardin County High School students have aided 
local community organizations and events with myriad projects; and  
 WHEREAS, Mr. Townley, with an indefatigable industriousness, has also helped to 
foster the next generation of athletes as a TSSAA-registered football official for middle school 
and junior varsity games and a Savannah Parks and Recreation youth football and baseball 
official; and 
 WHEREAS, Mr. Townley's display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well 
for his future success; and 
 WHEREAS, Cooper Townley's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride 
for his family, his school, and his community; and 
 WHEREAS, Mr. Townley's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect, 
admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED 
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE 
CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor the 2025 Hardin County High School 
Salutatorian, Cooper Townley, on his impressive academic achievement and extend to him our 
best wishes for a happy, successful future. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
