1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Aubrey Garton, 2025
1313 Valedictorian of Hardin County High School.

1515 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
1616 tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
1717 academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
1818 WHEREAS, Aubrey Garton is one such exceptional student, who was recently named
1919 Valedictorian of the 2025 graduating class at Hardin County High School; and
2020 WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and
2121 steadfast commitment of time and talent, Ms. Garton has achieved outstanding academic
2222 success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country;
2323 and
2424 WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Aubrey Garton has earned an
2525 exemplary grade point average while participating in numerous extracurricular activities,
2626 including bowling, student council, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, National
2727 English Honor Society, Vocational Honor Society, HOSA, Hardin County 4-H, VOLS, and FFA;
2828 and
2929 WHEREAS, Ms. Garton well exhibited her outstanding leadership skills and manifold
3030 talents as the co-president of the National Honor Society, president of the 4-H Honor Club, vice
3131 president of VOLS, president of the Savannah Youth Bowling Association, a member of
3232 Tennessee 4-H All Stars, an attendee at the 4-H State Congress, a graduate of Hardin County
3333 High School Central Bank Youth Leadership, an FAA-licensed drone pilot, and a recipient of an
3434 OSHA General Industry Safety and Health certification; and

3939 WHEREAS, her notable capabilities and indefatigable industriousness have been rightly
4040 recognized by numerous awards and accolades, including the 4-H Senior Member of the Year
4141 award, the 4-H Community/Volunteer Award, the title of Tennessee Secondary School Athletic
4242 Association's 2025 Miss Bowling, and a SkillsUSA Regional Gold Medal in crime scene
4343 investigation; and
4444 WHEREAS, apart from her superlative scholastic endeavors, she has generously given
4545 of her time as a member of the New Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church Vacation Bible
4646 School, a camp teen leader and advisory council member for UT-Extension Hardin County, an
4747 elementary school bowling coach with Hardin County Schools, a scorer with Hardin County High
4848 School Hitmen Trap Team, a volunteer with New Life United Pentecostal Church, and a student
4949 helper, guide, and Tiger Tutor at Hardin County High School; and
5050 WHEREAS, Ms. Garton's display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well
5151 for her future success; and
5252 WHEREAS, Aubrey Garton's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride
5353 for her family, her school, and her community; and
5454 WHEREAS, Ms. Garton's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect,
5555 admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
5656 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
5757 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY O F THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
5858 CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor the 2025 Hardin County High School
5959 Valedictorian, Aubrey Garton, on her impressive academic achievement and extend to her our
6060 best wishes for a happy, successful future.
