<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 520 By Marsh HJR0520 006539 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor Nick Davis upon being inducted as the 2025 president of the Tennessee Road Builders Association. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should salute those citizens who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as business leaders of whom we can all be proud; and WHEREAS, one such noteworthy person is Nick Davis, who is the 2025 president of the Tennessee Road Builders Association; and WHEREAS, on February 12, 2025, Mr. Davis was installed as the seventy-ninth president of the Tennessee Road Builders Association (TRBA), an honor most befitting his commitment to and leadership in his profession; and WHEREAS, born and raised in Murfreesboro, Nick Davis currently resides in Cookeville with his wife, Susy Davis, and their children, Avery and Hudson; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management and was a member of the second Concrete Management graduating class; and WHEREAS, in 2001, he began his career at Harper Construction; in 2004, he gained employment with Mid-State Construction Company in Livingston, and he currently serves as the vice president of the Bridge Division; and WHEREAS, Nick Davis is the second person from Mid-State Construction to serve as TRBA president, following Johnny Fred Coleman in 2006; and - 2 - 006539 WHEREAS, a noted and trusted leader in his profession, Mr. Davis was elected to the TRBA Board in 2017 as chairman of the Bridge & Concrete Division, in which capacity he served for six years; and WHEREAS, he has also served as the TRBA's first vice president and treasurer, second vice president, and a member of the organization's Investment Committee; additionally, he is a graduate of TRBA's Emerging Leaders Development Program; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis is a member of the Tennessee Highway Contractors PAC Board and the TRBA/TDOT Work Zone Safety Committee, and he is a graduate of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Builder Institute Project Management Academy; and WHEREAS, Nick Davis epitomizes the spirit and commitment that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to acknowledge and applaud Mr. Davis for his dedication to the highway and bridge construction industry; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMB LY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we honor Nick Davis upon being inducted as the 2025 president of the Tennessee Road Builders Association, commend him for his meritorious service to the State of Tennessee, and extend to him our best wishes for every future success.
