12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Robin McCord on her
13	13	selection as the 2024–2025 Cannon County
14	14	School District Grades PreK-4 Teacher of the
15	15	Year.

17	17	WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
18	18	specially recognize those outstanding teachers who have devoted their careers to providing the
19	19	highest-quality education for Tennessee's students; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Robin McCord is one such estimable educator, who has distinguished
21	21	herself as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Mrs. McCord has been selected as the 2024–2025 Cannon County School
23	23	District Grades PreK-4 Teacher of the Year, a most befitting honor that recognizes the positive
24	24	influence she has on so many young lives; and
25	25	WHEREAS, Robin McCord is a PreK teacher at Cannon County Elementary School, in
26	26	which position she has served for fifteen years; in addition to her work in the classroom, she has
27	27	participated in many leadership and community involvement projects, such as helping with
28	28	outreach services for families in crisis, acting as a VPK PreK teacher for multiple years, being a
29	29	community PreK advisory teacher representative, and serving as a Tennessee Promise mentor;
30	30	and
31	31	WHEREAS, steeping herself in further study to better her teaching, Mrs. McCord
32	32	graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
33	33	Elementary Education and subsequently earned her Master of Arts degree in Educational
34	34	Leadership from Austin Peay State University, from which she graduated with honors; and

39	39	WHEREAS, no stranger to accolades, Mrs. McCord has already been recognized for her
40	40	outstanding pedagogical accomplishments by being named the Teacher of the Year at her
41	41	previous school; and
42	42	WHEREAS, Mrs. McCord is committed to fostering a classroom environment that
43	43	emphasizes a holistic view of her students, balancing their academic development with their
44	44	socioemotional needs and multifarious interests; and
45	45	WHEREAS, she is an extremely talented and compassionate educator who works
46	46	assiduously to motivate her students to reach their full potential, both as scholars and as
47	47	citizens; and
48	48	WHEREAS, Mrs. McCord serves as an inspiration to her colleagues and students alike,
49	49	and her friendship and counsel are highly valued by those who are fortunate to know her; and
50	50	WHEREAS, Robin McCord truly epitomizes the dedicated teacher who is wholly
51	51	committed to the highest ideals of public service and quality education for all, and she should be
52	52	specially recognized; now, therefore,
53	53	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
54	54	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
55	55	CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Robin McCord on being chosen as the
56	56	2024–2025 Cannon County School District Grades PreK-4 Teacher of the Year, commend her
57	57	exceptional service to the children of Tennessee, salute her professional expertise and personal
58	58	excellence, and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
59	59	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
60	60	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
61	61	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
62	62	without House or Senate designation.
