| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, safety is the highest priority for the streets and highways of our State and its |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | cities; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, many thousands of Tennessee residents and visitors enjoy motorcycling as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | an energy-efficient mode of transportation and as an enjoyable recreational activity; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, increased awareness and knowledge of the rules of the road, combined |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | with the development of good riding/driving skills, are necessary for the safe operation of all |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | vehicles; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, education of both motorcycle riders and operators of other motor vehicles is |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | necessary to reduce the pain, suffering, and economic losses caused by traffic crashes; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, the Department of Safety trains up to 10,000 Tennessee citizens per year to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | safely ride motorcycles through the Motorcycle Rider Education Program that is supported by |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | additional dollars paid through motorcyclists' registrations; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, the Concerned Motorcyclists of Tennessee/American Bikers Active Towards |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Education, the National Motorcycle Riders Foundation, and the Tennessee Confederation of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Clubs are instrumental in saving lives through their volunteerism in safety and awareness |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | programs; now, therefore, |

| 31 | 31 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED |
