19 | 19 | | those exemplary Tennessee public high school music programs that embody exceptional talent, |

20 | 20 | | dedication, and service, proudly representing our State on the local, national, and international |

22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, one such distinguished group of young musicians is the Stewarts Creek |

23 | 23 | | High School Band, founded in 2013, which has quickly established itself as a source of |

24 | 24 | | immense pride for the Town of Smyrna and Rutherford County by consistently demonstrating |
---|
25 | 25 | | musical excellence and community service; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, since its founding, the Stewarts Creek High School Band has consistently |
---|
27 | 27 | | upheld a high standard of musical excellence, receiving superior ratings in concert and sight- |
---|
28 | 28 | | reading performance from the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association |
---|
29 | 29 | | (MTSBOA) and recognition from the Tennessee Arts Academy, including the 2024 "School of |
---|
30 | 30 | | Merit" and "Arts-Rich High School" designations; and |

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, the Stewarts Creek High School Band has been honored seven times by |

32 | 32 | | the American School Band Directors Association with the prestigious Award of Distinction in |

33 | 33 | | Concert Performance; and |

34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, demonstrating its artistic distinction, the Stewarts Creek High School Wind |

35 | 35 | | Ensemble was selected to perform at the Sixty-First Annual Tennessee Music Education |

46 | 46 | | at events such as the Seventy-Fifth Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the dedication of the Captain |

47 | 47 | | Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial, and a national television appearance on WGN-America for the |

49 | 49 | | WHEREAS, further adding to its impressive résumé, the Stewarts Creek High School |

50 | 50 | | Band notably appeared in the 2025 Amazon Studios movie Holland; and |

51 | 51 | | WHEREAS, the continued success of the Stewarts Creek High School Band has been |

53 | 53 | | Yatuzis-Derryberry, Color Guard Director Allison Mader, and Stewarts Creek Middle School |
