16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pleasure in recognizing |
---|
17 | 17 | | those outstanding individuals who serve as advocates for the greater good, thereby contributing |
---|
18 | 18 | | significantly to the well-being of their fellow citizens; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, one such person is Heather Ayres of Giles County, who, through providing |
---|
20 | 20 | | essential relief to first responders, has distinguished herself as a community leader of whom we |
---|
21 | 21 | | can all be proud; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Ayres has wholeheartedly devoted her time, talents, and resources to |
---|
23 | 23 | | the Giles County Rehab Unit, which she established in January 2024 to support local first |
---|
24 | 24 | | responders during extended emergency situations and trainings; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Ayres recognized the need for an area for first responders and |
---|
26 | 26 | | emergency personnel to rest and recover in order to continue performing their duties in times of |
---|
27 | 27 | | crisis; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Heather Ayres's unique perspective for her idea originated from witnessing |
---|
29 | 29 | | her husband and her son respond to emergency calls at all hours, specifically after her husband |
---|
30 | 30 | | answered a house fire call on a brutally cold winter day; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, information regarding the Giles County Rehab Unit was shared across |
---|
32 | 32 | | social media platforms, and since then, it has grown from just a few cases of water to a trailer |
---|
33 | 33 | | with a staging area for nonperishable foods, pallets of water, hydrating drinks, and other |
---|
34 | 34 | | donations; and |

39 | 39 | | WHEREAS, Heather Ayres has worked assiduously to supply essential relief to |

42 | 42 | | WHEREAS, no stranger to awards and accolades, Heather Ayres was duly recognized |

43 | 43 | | with the Governor's Volunteer Stars Award and named the 2024 Citizen of the Week by Pulaski |

44 | 44 | | Citizen to commemorate her innovation and dedication to the Giles County Rehab Unit and the |
---|
45 | 45 | | safety of first responders; and |

46 | 46 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Ayres is most grateful for the love and support she shares with her |
---|
47 | 47 | | husband, Jamie, and their family; and |
---|
48 | 48 | | WHEREAS, since the inception of the Giles County Rehab Unit, Mrs. Ayres has made it |
---|
49 | 49 | | her mission to support first responders in any way possible, becoming a pillar of reliability and |
---|
50 | 50 | | inspiring others throughout her community; and |
---|
51 | 51 | | WHEREAS, Heather Ayres has demonstrated the utmost compassion, ability, and |
---|
52 | 52 | | integrity, winning the sincere respect of her peers and her community alike; and |

53 | 53 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Ayres's dedication to service is clearly deserving of the respect, |
---|
54 | 54 | | admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now, therefore, |

55 | 55 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED |
