16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Wildlife Officer Craig Norris is taking a much-deserved retirement from the |
---|
17 | 17 | | Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) after dedicating thirty-five years of service to the |
---|
18 | 18 | | State of Tennessee, primarily in Pickett County; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Officer Norris's organizational skills and knowledge of Pickett County |
---|
20 | 20 | | provided great support for the county's residents and the agency mission he served; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, after serving his first two years as a wildlife officer in Van Buren County, |
---|
22 | 22 | | Craig Norris transferred to Pickett County, where he remained for the rest of his career and |
---|
23 | 23 | | became an integral part of the community; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, noted for his dedication to the community's needs and priorities, Officer |
---|
25 | 25 | | Norris always served with his heart, whether he was educating hunters, enforcing boating safety |
---|
26 | 26 | | laws on Dale Hollow Reservoir, conducting school programs, or connecting with hunters and |
---|
27 | 27 | | anglers; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, he particularly enjoyed working the walleye run on the East Fork of the |
---|
29 | 29 | | Obey River and interacting with his fellow officers; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, his TWRA commanding officer praised Mr. Norris as "a steady hand and a |
---|
31 | 31 | | great community officer" who approached "even the most stressful situations with a calmness, |
---|
32 | 32 | | experience, and knowledge"; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Craig Norris grew up in Overton County, hunting and fishing with his dad; |
---|
34 | 34 | | his childhood dream was to become a game warden; and |
---|

39 | 39 | | WHEREAS, working to fulfill that dream, he obtained a degree in wildlife management |

40 | 40 | | from Tennessee Technological University in 1989 and soon thereafter began his illustrious |

42 | 42 | | WHEREAS, his many professional accomplishments aside, Craig Norris is most grateful |
---|
43 | 43 | | for the love and companionship he shares with his wife, Stephanie, who has always supported |
---|
44 | 44 | | him in his career; and |
---|
45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, Officer Craig Norris has served TWRA and the State of Tennessee with the |
---|
46 | 46 | | greatest acumen and devotion, and he is worthy of our approbation on this special occasion; |

48 | 48 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED |

50 | 50 | | CONCURRING, that we honor Craig Norris upon the occasion of his retirement from the |
