A RESOLUTION to recognize and congratulate George 
Dagermangy, winner of the 2024 Secretary of 
State's civics essay contest. 
 
 WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize those industrious, talented students of 
Tennessee who bring pride and honor to our State; and 
 WHEREAS, one such individual is George Dagermangy, who recently won first place 
among all students in grades K-2 statewide in the 2024 Secretary of State's civics essay 
contest; and 
 WHEREAS, a resident of Williamson County and a student at St. Henry School, George 
was one of twelve overall winners across all grade levels; a total of 4,356 students participated 
in the contest, with the theme "Why Trusted Sources Matter"; and 
 WHEREAS, in winning first-place in the essay contest, George Dagermangy will receive 
a $500 TNStars 529 College Savings Program scholarship and a trip to the State Capitol; and 
 WHEREAS, additionally, George will serve as a House Page on the morning of April 3, 
2025, in recognition of his notable achievement; and  
WHEREAS, George's recent victory is a great source of pride for his family, his school, 
and his community; and 
 WHEREAS, George Dagermangy's display of aptitude and ambition surely bodes well 
for his future success, and his dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of our respect, 
admiration, and commendation; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED 
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we commend 
and congratulate George Dagermangy on his statewide victory in the Secretary of State's 2024

civics essay contest among students in grades K-2, extending our best wishes for much 
continued success in all his future endeavors. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
