A RESOLUTION to commend Elizabeth Spurling for exemplary
service as a legislative intern.
WHEREAS, each legislative session, this legislative body is pleased to recognize certain
persons who have committed themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the
legislative process; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Spurling is one such individual, who has distinguished herself in
her role as a legislative intern for Representative Jay Reedy; Ms. Spurling's work has resulted in
innumerable benefits for the legislators she assisted and the General Assembly as a whole; and
WHEREAS, an economics student at Belmont University, Elizabeth Spurling, through
her supernal academic performance, has earned recognition on the Dean's List, which surely
spells success in her future pursuit of a doctorate in law; and
WHEREAS, eager to familiarize herself with the characteristics and complexities of
Tennessee State government and to further her studies, Elizabeth Spurling brought her many
abilities and singular expertise to Capitol Hill for the 2025 session of the One Hundred
Fourteenth General Assembly, and she will surely utilize her accumulated experience and
deepening political prowess as she travels to Washington, D.C., to serve as an intern in the
office of Congresswoman Anna Luna, Florida's Thirteenth Congressional District representative;
and
WHEREAS, throughout the 2025 legislative session, Ms. Spurling has surpassed all
criteria that define a devoted and conscientious legislative intern; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Spurling has performed her many duties with extraordinary insight
and rare decorum; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we hereby
commend Elizabeth Spurling for outstanding service as a legislative intern for Representative
Jay Reedy and extend to her our best wishes for every future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
