1212 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39,
1313 relative to disorderly conduct.

1515 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1616 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-17-309, is amended by deleting
1717 subsection (d) and substituting:
1818 (1)
1919 (A) Except as provided in subdivision (d)(1)(B), a violation of subsection
2020 (b) is a Class D felony.
2121 (B) A violation of subsection (b) is a Class C felony if the victim of the
2222 offense was:
2323 (i) A minor under eighteen (18) years of age; or
2424 (ii) Selected by the defendant based on the victim's status as a
2525 minister, preacher, pastor, priest, rabbi, or other spiritual leader of a
2626 religious belief who has been ordained or otherwise designated in
2727 conformity with the customs of a church, temple, or other religious group
2828 or organization.
2929 (2) A violation of subsection (c) is a Class A misdemeanor.
3030 SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
