14+amended by Chapter 207 of the Private Acts of 1992;
15+Chapter 1 of the Private Acts of 2009 and Chapter 54 of
16+the Private Acts of 2022; and any other acts amendatory
17+thereto, relative to City of Celina.

1519 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1620 SECTION 1. Chapter 90 of the Private Acts of 1991, as amended by Chapter 207 of the
1721 Private Acts of 1992, and Chapter 1 of the Private Acts of 2009, and any other acts amendatory
1822 thereto, is amended by deleting the following in Section 2.01 in Article II:
19-On the first Tuesday in June, 1993, an election shall be conducted by the county election
20-commissioners, at the same hours and places for holding general elections and under the
21-general election laws of Tennessee, to elect a mayor and three (3) aldermen for a term of
22-four (4) years, from the city at large.
23+On the first Tuesday in June, 1993, an election shall be conducted by the county
24+election commissioners, at the same hours and places for holding general
25+elections and under the general election laws of Tennessee, to elect a mayor and
26+three (3) aldermen for a term of four (4) years, from the city at large.
2327 and substituting instead:
24-On the first Tuesday in June 2025, an election shall be conducted by the county election
25-commissioners, at the same hour and places for holding general elections and under the
26-general election laws of Tennessee, to elect a mayor and five (5) aldermen for a term of four
27-(4) years, from the city at large.
28+On the first Tuesday in June 2025, an election shall be conducted by the county
29+election commissioners, at the same hour and places for holding general
30+elections and under the general election laws of Tennessee, to elect a mayor and
31+five (5) aldermen for a term of four (4) years, from the city at large.
2832 SECTION 2. Chapter 90 of the Private Acts of 1991, as amended by Chapter 54 of the
29-Private Acts of 2022, and any other acts amendatory thereto, is amended by deleting the following in
30-Section 2.02 in Article II:
31-The Mayor and three (3) Aldermen shall compose the Board of Mayor and Alderman, in
32-which is vested all corporate and other legislative powers of the City, except as otherwise
33-provided in this act.
33+Private Acts of 2022, and any other acts amendatory thereto, is amended by deleting the
34+following in Section 2.02 in Article II:
35+The Mayor and three (3) Aldermen shall compose the Board of Mayor and

38-SECTION 3. Chapter 90 of the Private Acts of 1991, and any acts amendatory thereto, is
39-amended by deleting the following in Section 2.08 in Article II:
40-The affirmative vote of at least two (2) members of the board shall be required to pass any

46+ SECTION 3. Chapter 90 of the Private Acts of 1991, and any acts amendatory thereto,

45-SECTION 4. This act shall have no effect unless it is approved by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of
46-the legislative body of the City of Celina. Its approval or nonapproval shail be proclaimed by the
47-presiding· office·r of the legislative body and certified to the secretary of state.
48-SECTION 5. For the purpose of approving or rejecting the provisions of this act, it shall be
49-effective upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. For all other purposes, it shall become
50-effective as provided in Section 4.
