1312 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4;
1413 Title 49 and Title 50, relative to financial aid for
1514 individuals pursuing workforce credentials.

1716 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1817 SECTION 1.
1918 (a) The Tennessee Higher Education Commission, in consultation with the
2019 Department of Labor and Workforce Development, shall study:
2120 (1) Each state-funded financial aid and scholarship program to determine
2221 whether the respective program may be expanded to provide greater financial aid
2322 opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing a workforce credential; and
2423 (2) The number and scope of each financial aid and scholarship program
2524 independently offered by employers or other private entities or organizations in
2625 this state to increase the number of individuals with a workforce credential.
2726 (b) The Commission shall report its findings and any legislative
2827 recommendations to the committee of the house of representatives having jurisdiction
2928 over higher education and to the education committee of the senate no later than
3029 January 15, 2026.
3130 SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
