| 17 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 18 | 17 | | SECTION 1. |
|---|
| 19 | 18 | | (a) The Tennessee Higher Education Commission, in consultation with the |
|---|
| 20 | 19 | | Department of Labor and Workforce Development, shall study: |
|---|
| 21 | 20 | | (1) Each state-funded financial aid and scholarship program to determine |
|---|
| 22 | 21 | | whether the respective program may be expanded to provide greater financial aid |
|---|
| 23 | 22 | | opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing a workforce credential; and |
|---|
| 24 | 23 | | (2) The number and scope of each financial aid and scholarship program |
|---|
| 25 | 24 | | independently offered by employers or other private entities or organizations in |
|---|
| 26 | 25 | | this state to increase the number of individuals with a workforce credential. |
|---|
| 27 | 26 | | (b) The Commission shall report its findings and any legislative |
|---|
| 28 | 27 | | recommendations to the committee of the house of representatives having jurisdiction |
|---|
| 29 | 28 | | over higher education and to the education committee of the senate no later than |
|---|
| 30 | 29 | | January 15, 2026. |

| 31 | 30 | | SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
