1313 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 7,
1414 Chapter 61, relative to ambulance service.

1616 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1717 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 7-61-102, is amended by adding the
1818 following new subsection:
1919 (g) If a municipal governing body does not provide ambulance service within the
2020 boundaries of the municipality and the county in which the city lies provides ambulance
2121 service within the municipality, then the municipal governing body shall reimburse the
2222 county for the ambulance service provided in proportion to the municipality's population
2323 to the population of the county, according to the most recent federal census; provided,
2424 that the reimbursement must not exceed fifty percent (50%) of the total cost of providing
2525 the ambulance service.
2626 SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
