| 15 | 15 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 53-7-202, is amended by adding the | |
| 17 | 17 | following as a new subdivision: | |
| 18 | 18 | ( ) "mRNA vaccine or vaccine material" means a substance to stimulate the | |
| 19 | 19 | production of antibodies and provide immunity against disease by introducing | |
| 20 | 20 | messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) that corresponds to a viral protein; | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 53-7-205, is amended by adding the | |
| 22 | 22 | following as a new subsection: | |
| 23 | 23 | (d) This section or another law does not prohibit a person from labeling meat or | |
| 24 | 24 | a meat product as "mRNA free" or any similar designation, if the animals from which the | |
| 25 | 25 | meat or meat product was derived were not administered an mRNA vaccine or vaccine | |
| 26 | 26 | material. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
