| 17 | 16 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
| 18 | 17 | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 41-21-236, is amended by adding | |
| 19 | 18 | the following as a new subsection: | |
| 20 | 19 | ( ) The department, in consultation with the inmate disciplinary oversight board, | |
| 21 | 20 | shall compose a report detailing the number of inmates who earned sentence reduction | |
| 22 | 21 | credits under this section and shall submit the report to the senate judiciary committee | |
| 23 | 22 | and the committee of the house of representatives with jurisdiction over subject matters | |
| 24 | 23 | pertaining to criminal sentencing. | |
| 25 | 24 | SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
