18 | 18 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 1. | |
20 | 20 | (a) The Tennessee advisory commission on intergovernmental relations (TACIR) | |
21 | 21 | shall study the economic impact that the cosmetology and barbering professions have in | |
22 | 22 | this state, including revenue generated through the services provided and the number of | |
23 | 23 | jobs generated by the professions. | |
24 | 24 | (b) TACIR may request information and input from the department of commerce | |
25 | 25 | and insurance and other appropriate state and local governmental entities, as | |
26 | 26 | necessary, and such entities shall comply with TACIR's request. The study must be | |
27 | 27 | conducted from TACIR's existing resources. | |
28 | 28 | (c) Upon completion of the study required by subsection (a), TACIR shall report | |
29 | 29 | its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the chair of the | |
30 | 30 | commerce and labor committee of the senate and the chair of the committee of the | |
31 | 31 | house of representatives having jurisdiction over cosmetology and barbering, and | |
32 | 32 | provide a copy of the report to the legislative librarian. The report may be delivered | |
33 | 33 | electronically. | |
34 | 34 | SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
