1313 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section
1414 71-4-803 and Section 71-4-806, relative to the
1515 Achieving a Better Life Experience Act.

1717 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1818 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 71-4-803, is amended by deleting
1919 subdivisions (5) and (6) and substituting:
2020 (5) "Disability certification" has the same meaning as provided in the code;
2121 (6) "Eligible individual" has the same meaning as provided in the code. The
2222 eligible individual is the account owner and the designated beneficiary on the account;
2323 SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 71-4-806(d), is amended by deleting
2424 the subsection and substituting:
2525 (d) Contributions from a student's individualized education account to an
2626 achieving a better life experience account for the benefit of the student may only be
2727 expended for the student's education expenses in accordance with this part, the rules
2828 promulgated pursuant to this part, and the code.
2929 SECTION 3. For purposes of promulgating rules, Section 1 of this act takes effect upon
3030 becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. For all other purposes, Section 1 of this act
3131 takes effect on January 1, 2026, the public welfare requiring it. All remaining sections of this act
3232 take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
