16 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

17 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 40-11-151, is amended by deleting |

19 | 19 | | The premium fee for your bond should not be more than ten percent (10%) of the face |
---|
20 | 20 | | amount of your bond. For example, if your bond is $2,500, the premium on the bond |
---|
21 | 21 | | should not be more than $250. |

22 | 22 | | and substituting: |

23 | 23 | | The premium fee for your bond should not be less than five percent (5%) or more than |

24 | 24 | | ten percent (10%) of the face amount of your bond. For example, if your bond is $2,500, |

25 | 25 | | the premium on the bond should not be less than $125 or more than $250. |

26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 40-11-316(a), is amended by |

27 | 27 | | deleting the language "more than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the face value of the |

28 | 28 | | bond" and substituting "less than five percent (5%) or more than ten percent (10%) of the |
---|
29 | 29 | | amount of the face value of the bond". |

30 | 30 | | SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 40-11-316(c), is amended by |

31 | 31 | | deleting the language "up to fifteen percent (15%) of the amount of the face value of the bond" |

32 | 32 | | and substituting "no less than five percent (5%) and no more than fifteen percent (15%) of the |
---|
33 | 33 | | amount of the face value of the bond". |

34 | 34 | | SECTION 4. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it. |
