1313 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 58,
1414 Chapter 1, Part 2, relative to the "Tennessee
1515 National Guard Servicemember's Medical
1616 Readiness Act."

1818 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1919 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 58, Chapter 1, Part 2, is amended by
2020 adding the following as a new section:
2121 (a) This section is known and may be cited as the "Tennessee National Guard
2222 Servicemember's Medical Readiness Act."
2323 (b) The Tennessee national guard TRICARE premium reimbursement program
2424 is created within the military department.
2525 (c) As used in this section, unless the context otherwise requires, "eligible
2626 recipient" means an individual who is:
2727 (1) A member of the Tennessee national guard; and
2828 (2) Eligible for TRICARE reserve select or TRICARE dental program
2929 coverage.
3030 (d) The military department may award reimbursement grants to an eligible
3131 recipient who meets the reimbursement application requirements established by the
3232 adjutant general for reimbursement of one (1) or both of the following:
3333 (1) A premium paid for individual coverage for an eligible recipient
3434 through the TRICARE reserve select program; or
3535 (2) A premium paid for individual coverage for an eligible recipient
3636 through the TRICARE dental program.

4141 (e) If any portion of the premiums eligible for reimbursement in this section are
4242 later paid for, reimbursed, or otherwise provided to an eligible recipient by the federal
4343 government, then that portion shall cease to be reimbursed by the TRICARE premium
4444 reimbursement program established in this section.
4545 (f) The adjutant general shall adopt and publish written policies and guidelines to
4646 effectuate the purposes of this section.
4747 SECTION 2. This act is not an appropriation of funds, and funds must not be obligated
4848 or expended pursuant to this act unless the funds are specifically appropriated by the general
4949 appropriations act.
5050 SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
