| 17 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 18 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-6-417(a)(1), is amended by |
|---|
| 19 | 18 | | deleting "public high school" and substituting instead "public school, including a public charter |
|---|
| 20 | 19 | | school,". |
|---|
| 21 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-6-417(a), is amended by adding |
|---|
| 22 | 21 | | the following as a new, appropriately designated subdivision: |

| 23 | 22 | | ( ) "Public charter school" has the same meaning as defined in ยง 49-13-104; |
|---|
| 24 | 23 | | SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-6-417(b), is amended by deleting |
|---|
| 25 | 24 | | "Each LEA is authorized to" and substituting instead "Each LEA and public charter school shall" |
|---|
| 26 | 25 | | and by inserting "regularly used by students in grades four through twelve (4-12)" immediately |
|---|
| 27 | 26 | | after "all women's and girl's bathrooms and locker rooms". |

| 28 | 27 | | SECTION 4. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-6-417, is amended by adding the |
|---|
| 29 | 28 | | following new subsections: |
|---|
| 30 | 29 | | (c) The state shall reimburse each LEA and public charter school that provides |
|---|
| 31 | 30 | | feminine hygiene products pursuant to this section in an amount equal to the cost of the |
|---|
| 32 | 31 | | products paid by the LEA or public charter school pursuant to this section. |
|---|
| 33 | 32 | | (d) The department of health shall collaborate with the state board of education, |
|---|
| 34 | 33 | | and other state agencies as the department deems appropriate, to create a public health |
|---|
| 35 | 34 | | campaign dedicated to encouraging individuals and nonprofit organizations to contribute |
|---|
| 36 | 35 | | or drop off feminine hygiene products to eligible schools. |
