| 17 | 16 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-5-102(a), is amended by deleting |

| 24 | 23 | | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-5-102, is amended by adding the |

| 26 | 25 | | (c) The candidate's name that will be shown on the ballot must match the |

| 27 | 26 | | candidate's name as it appears on the candidate's voter registration record. Nicknames, |

| 28 | 27 | | abbreviations, and variations in spelling are not authorized. The coordinator of elections |
|---|
| 29 | 28 | | shall provide guidelines and examples to potential candidates to aid in compliance with |
|---|
| 30 | 29 | | this subsection (c). |

| 31 | 30 | | SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. |
