11 | 18 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

12 | 19 | | SECTION 1. |
---|
13 | 20 | | (a) The Tennessee advisory commission on intergovernmental relations (TACIR) |
---|
14 | 21 | | shall study the economic impact that the cosmetology and barbering professions have in |
---|
15 | 22 | | this state, including revenue generated through the services provided and the number of |
---|
16 | 23 | | jobs generated by the professions. |
---|
17 | 24 | | (b) TACIR may request information and input from the department of commerce |
---|
18 | 25 | | and insurance and other appropriate state and local governmental entities, as |
---|
19 | 26 | | necessary, and such entities shall comply with TACIR's request. The study must be |
---|
20 | 27 | | conducted from TACIR's existing resources. |
---|
21 | 28 | | (c) Upon completion of the study required by subsection (a), TACIR shall report |
---|
22 | 29 | | its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the chair of the |
---|
23 | 30 | | commerce and labor committee of the senate and the chair of the committee of the |
---|
24 | 31 | | house of representatives having jurisdiction over cosmetology and barbering, and |
---|
25 | 32 | | provide a copy of the report to the legislative librarian. The report may be delivered |
---|
26 | 33 | | electronically. |
