| 13 | 13 | | AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 2 and |

| 14 | 14 | | Title 3, relative to elections. |

| 16 | 16 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: |

| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 2, Chapter 10, Part 3, is amended by |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | adding the following as a new section: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (a) An organization or entity that is based in a country other than the United |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | States or that is based in the United States and receives funding from entities that are |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | based in countries other than the United States shall not make contributions, including |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in-kind contributions, to a candidate or a political campaign committee. This prohibition |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | includes the promotion of the campaign or election through advertising, paying campaign |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | workers, or providing training for campaign or election staff. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-11-114(a), is amended by |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | designating the existing language as subdivision (1) and adding the following as a new |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | subdivision: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (2) Notwithstanding subdivision (a)(1), the speaker of the senate and the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | speaker of the house of representatives shall not approve the acceptance of funding |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | from an organization or entity that is based in a country other than the United States or |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | that is based in the United States and receives funding from entities that are based in |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | countries other than the United States. |

| 33 | 33 | | SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-12-118(a), is amended by |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | designating the existing language as subdivision (1) and adding the following as a new |
|---|
