1313 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 5;
1414 Title 6; Title 7 and Title 67, relative to the Ola Mae
1515 Ransom Reintegration Act.

1717 WHEREAS, it is the goal of the General Assembly to assist our veterans in transitional
1818 efforts; we are proposing legislation that will give those veterans who are residents of this State
1919 the opportunity to receive business licenses for free; and
2020 WHEREAS, it is a fact that veterans receive various transferrable skills while in the
2121 military as well as other technical and academic certifications and accreditation, and it benefits
2222 the State and surrounding communities to support this legislation for economic and
2323 entrepreneurial development; now, therefore,
2424 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ST ATE OF TENNESSEE:
2525 SECTION 1. This act is known and may be cited as the "Ola Mae Ransom
2626 Reintegration Act."
2727 SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 67-4-723, is amended by adding the
2828 following as a new subsection:
2929 (f) Notwithstanding subsections (a) and (b), a fee for a business license must not
3030 be charged to any veteran of the United States military, including the national guard and
3131 reserves.
3232 SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
