1212 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 67,
1313 Chapter 6, relative to sales and use tax

1616 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1717 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 67, Chapter 6, Part 3, is amended by
1818 adding the following as a new section:
1919 67-6-359.
2020 (a) There is exempt from the tax imposed by this chapter the sale or use of
2121 menstrual hygiene products.
2222 (b) As used in this section, "menstrual hygiene product":
2323 (1) Means a product to be used by women with respect to menstruation
2424 or other genital-tract secretions; and
2525 (2) Includes tampons, pads, liners, cups, and douches, whether any such
2626 products are reusable or disposable.
2727 SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 2025, the public welfare requiring it.
