1212 AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section
1313 50-7-302 and Section 58-2-106, relative to
1414 emergencies.

1616 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1717 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 50-7-302(a), is amended by
1818 designating the existing language as subdivision (a)(1) and adding the following as a new
1919 subdivision (a)(2):
2020 (2) Upon declaration of an emergency pursuant to ยง 58-2-107, the provisions of
2121 subdivisions (a)(1)(C)-(a)(1)(E) are suspended to the extent necessary to allow the
2222 commissioner the discretion to amend such reporting requirements upon receiving
2323 appropriate federal guidance. Such a suspension is limited to eligible claimants who
2424 reside or work in counties for which this state has requested a major disaster
2525 declaration.
2626 SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 58-2-106(b), is amended by adding
2727 the following as a new subdivision (b)(19) and redesignating the existing subdivision (b)(19)
2828 accordingly:
2929 (19) Have authority to assist a political subdivision or local emergency
3030 management agency with recovery from disasters and emergencies on public property
3131 at the request of the political subdivision or agency.
3232 SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
