1212 A RESOLUTION to recognize and commend the Tennessee
1313 Federation of Republican Women on the
1414 occasion of the organization's seventieth
1515 anniversary.

1717 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly specially recognize
1818 those estimable individuals who work to improve the quality of life for their fellow citizens
1919 through their involvement in the political process; and
2020 WHEREAS, one such meritorious group is the Tennessee Federation of Republican
2121 Women (TNFRW), a laudable organization that is celebrating its seventieth anniversary this
2222 year, marking seven decades of devoted service to the Republican Party and the citizens of the
2323 Volunteer State; and
2424 WHEREAS, the TNFRW was chartered as a state organization of the National
2525 Federation of Republican Women in 1955; the state-level clubs of the Federation have long laid
2626 the groundwork for organizing and electing Republicans; and
2727 WHEREAS, the TNFRW was initially led by Alice Elder, the first president of the
2828 Tennessee Federation; prior to Tennessee becoming affiliated with the National Federation, she
2929 had organized women's groups in her own district and across the State; and
3030 WHEREAS, currently under the capable leadership of President Sharon Boreing of
3131 Johnson City, the TNFRW learned on December 7, 2024, that the Tennessee Republican Party
3232 State Executive Committee had affirmed TNFRW's president as a voting member of the
3333 Administrative Committee and granted Club presidents across the State a vote on County
3434 Executive Committees; and

3939 WHEREAS, these steps reflect the shared dedication of the TNFRW and the Tennessee
4040 Republican Party State Executive Committee to strengthening the Republican Party's
4141 infrastructure and advancing its mission in Tennessee; and
4242 WHEREAS, the rich history of the TNFRW serves as a testament to the enduring
4343 importance of collaboration between the Federation and Republican leadership; and
4444 WHEREAS, to recognize the organization's seventieth anniversary, members of the
4545 TNFRW are gathering for Ladies Day on the Hill on April 14, 2025; and
4646 WHEREAS, an engaged, civic-minded group of women, the Tennessee Federation of
4747 Republican Women is an organization that strives toward bettering the lives of the citizens of
4848 this State and has successfully done so for seven decades; now, therefore,
4949 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
5050 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
5151 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we recognize and commend the Tennessee
5252 Federation of Republican Women on the occasion of the organization's seventieth anniversary,
5353 extending our gratitude for the group's continued community involvement and our best wishes
5454 for its continued success.
5555 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5656 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5757 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
5858 without House or Senate designation.
