| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should honor those individuals who have answered a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | divine call to the ministry and who have served with dedication, vigor, and enthusiasm to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | perform God's work for their congregations and their communities; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, one such noteworthy person is Ted Clower, who has distinguished himself |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | as a citizen of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity and as a pastor of the highest order; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Ted Clower was called to lead Salem Baptist Church in Roane |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | County in August 1980, and he continued as full-time pastor of the congregation until March |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 2024, amassing over forty-three years of devoted leadership and guidance; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, during his tenure at Salem Baptist, Pastor Clower instituted many important, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | successful initiatives, such as a bus ministry, a nursing home ministry, Vacation Bible School, a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | jail mission ministry, a senior saints ministry, a youth ministry, and a children's church ministry; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, prior to becoming pastor, he was a bus driver and a deacon for the church; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | his vocational record also includes work with County Farmers Co-Op and Oak Ridge National |

| 30 | 30 | | Laboratory; and |

| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Clower was born on February 26, 1949, to Olaf and Rhea Clower; he |

| 32 | 32 | | graduated from Midway High School in 1967 and attended Crown College, from which he |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | received an honorary doctorate in 2009. He also holds a degree from Bible Baptist Institute; |

| 42 | 42 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Ted Clower epitomizes the spirit and commitment that are |

| 43 | 43 | | characteristic of a true Tennessean, and he should be specially recognized for his many |

| 44 | 44 | | accomplishments and devoted work; now, therefore, |

| 45 | 45 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |
