12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Robert Andrew
13	13	Huddleston of Wilson County.

15	15	WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should salute those
16	16	citizens who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as community
17	17	leaders of whom we can all be proud; and
18	18	WHEREAS, one such noteworthy person is Robert Andrew Huddleston, a highly
19	19	respected member of his community who has dedicated himself to improving the quality of life
20	20	for his fellow citizens; and
21	21	WHEREAS, a native of Wilson County, Andy Huddleston graduated from Lebanon High
22	22	School in 1971 and attended Nashville Technical Institute, where he briefly studied electrical
23	23	engineering before transferring to Union University in Jackson; and
24	24	WHEREAS, it was at Union University where his career in ministry began, and he went
25	25	on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministries from the University of the
26	26	Nations in Kailua Kona, Hawaii; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Mr. Huddleston began his career as a missionary in 1977 and continued
28	28	this work for forty years with a non-denominational para-church organization called Youth With
29	29	A Mission (YWAM); and
30	30	WHEREAS, during his time with YWAM, he developed a Volunteer Support
31	31	Development Seminar to assist faith-based organizations with financial support services and
32	32	training; in 2017, he departed the organization as a staff development coordinator at YWAM's
33	33	headquarters in Kailua Kona, Hawaii; and

38	38	WHEREAS, an ordained minister and Bible teacher, Mr. Huddleston has a decades-long
39	39	career in pairing biblical principles with his lectures on the financial workings of international
40	40	ministries; and
41	41	WHEREAS, Andy Huddleston taught biblical principles of self-finance nationally and
42	42	internationally from 1991 to 2022, and in 2000, he established a nonprofit, Mission Enablers
43	43	International, to service the finances of missionaries and ministries; and
44	44	WHEREAS, currently, he is founder and president of MEI, headquartered in Bentonville,
45	45	Arkansas; under his leadership, MEI regularly publishes books by Christian authors and
46	46	continues to serve YWAM ministry locations in Adams, Tennessee, and Heredia, Costa Rica, as
47	47	well as numerous organizations, churches, and freelance missionaries. He also presides over
48	48	the Tennessee nonprofit Kenya Islands Mission, which supports eco-missions in Kenya; and
49	49	WHEREAS, wholly devoted to his family, Mr. Huddleston is grateful for the love and
50	50	support of his wife of fifty years, the former Susan Grace McMahon of Appleton, Wisconsin;
51	51	together, the couple has been blessed with seven children and nineteen grandchildren; and
52	52	WHEREAS, in his memoir, White Knuckle Faith, he documents his and his wife's journey
53	53	in Central America as a young and growing family relying on God's providence; and
54	54	WHEREAS, Andy Huddleston epitomizes the spirit and commitment to family and
55	55	community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and
56	56	WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly acknowledge
57	57	and applaud Mr. Huddleston for his dedication to the State of Tennessee and its citizens; now,
58	58	therefore,
59	59	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
60	60	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
61	61	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURR ING, that we honor and commend Robert Andrew Huddleston

66	66	for his lifetime of service in ministry and as a missionary, teacher, and leader, extending to him
67	67	our best wishes for much continued success.
68	68	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
69	69	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
70	70	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
