1818 WHEREAS, Tennessee is proudly known as the Volunteer State from our history of
1919 responding to calls of action in defense of our nation, and the State of Tennessee is privileged
2020 to be served by the men and women of the Tennessee Army National Guard, who sacrifice their
2121 time and effort to ensure the well-being of their fellow Americans; and
2222 WHEREAS, proudly answering the call to service, 125 soldiers of the 1175

2525 Transportation Company, Tennessee Army National Guard, were deployed to the Southwest
2626 Border of the United States; and
2727 WHEREAS, their deployment was in response to Request For Assistance (RFA) 2024
2828 on Federal Orders, an order to aid and assist the United States Border Patrol by providing
2929 reconnaissance and reporting abilities to release agents to conduct their principal law
3030 enforcement duties; and
3131 WHEREAS, rendering sterling service, the members of the 1175

3333 served in McAllen,
3434 Texas, under Joint Task Force North from October 2023 to November 2024 and were
3535 commanded by Captain Everett Miller and 1

3737 Sergeant Cyrus Shores; and
3838 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to pause in their
3939 deliberations to express their heartfelt thanks to these exemplary and inspirational
4040 Tennesseans; now, therefore,
4141 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
