<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 111 By Johnson SJR0111 003247 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Nancy Dishner to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation. WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-51-101, provides for the creation of the Tennessee education lottery corporation; and WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-51-103, provides that the governor shall appoint seven (7) members to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation; and WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Dr. Nancy Dishner of Greeneville to serve as a member of the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation for a term that will expire on June 30, 2029; and WHEREAS, Dr. Dishner serves as president and chief executive officer of the Niswonger Foundation; she previously served as vice provost for enrollment services and director of the Roan Scholars Leadership Program at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and was a tenured professor in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis; and WHEREAS, prior to her position at ETSU, she served as a public-school teacher in Unicoi County, having begun her career in early childhood development as a kindergarten teacher; and WHEREAS, an alumna of ETSU, Dr. Dishner has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a master's degree in supervision and administration, and a doctorate in administration; and - 2 - 003247 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-51-103(f), provides that each member appointed by the governor to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation shall be confirmed by joint resolution of the general assembly; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby confirm the appointment of Nancy Dishner of Greeneville to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation for a term that will expire on June 30, 2029.
