14	14	A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Nancy Dishner to
15	15	the board of directors of the Tennessee
16	16	education lottery corporation.

18	18	WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-51-101, provides for the creation of
19	19	the Tennessee education lottery corporation; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-51-103, provides that the governor
21	21	shall appoint seven (7) members to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery
22	22	corporation; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Dr. Nancy Dishner of Greeneville to serve
24	24	as a member of the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation for a term
25	25	that will expire on June 30, 2029; and
26	26	WHEREAS, Dr. Dishner serves as president and chief executive officer of the Niswonger
27	27	Foundation; she previously served as vice provost for enrollment services and director of the
28	28	Roan Scholars Leadership Program at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and was a
29	29	tenured professor in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis; and
30	30	WHEREAS, prior to her position at ETSU, she served as a public-school teacher in
31	31	Unicoi County, having begun her career in early childhood development as a kindergarten
32	32	teacher; and
33	33	WHEREAS, an alumna of ETSU, Dr. Dishner has a Bachelor of Science degree in
34	34	Elementary Education, a master's degree in supervision and administration, and a doctorate in
35	35	administration; and

40	40	WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-51-103(f), provides that each
41	41	member appointed by the governor to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery
42	42	corporation shall be confirmed by joint resolution of the general assembly; now, therefore,
43	43	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
44	44	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
45	45	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby confirm the appointment of Nancy
46	46	Dishner of Greeneville to the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation
47	47	for a term that will expire on June 30, 2029.
