A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Jake Almond to 
the state forestry commission. 
 
 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 11-4-201, provides for the creation of 
a state forestry commission within the department of agriculture; and 
 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 11-4-201, further provides that the 
governor shall appoint seven (7) members to the commission; and 
 WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Jake Almond to the state forestry 
commission as an owner of not more than five hundred (500) acres of forests within the state for 
a term that expires on June 30, 2029; and 
 WHEREAS, a forty-two-year veteran of the forest industry, Jake Almond spent most of 
his career working as a consultant for private, non-industrial landowners, serving as the vice 
president and part-owner of American Forest Management; and 
WHEREAS, Mr. Almond has served as president of the Tennessee Forestry Association 
and on numerous other forestry-related boards; and 
WHEREAS, he has retired from active forest management and works as a realtor for the 
American Forest Management real estate division; and 
WHEREAS, Mr. Almond earned his degree in forestry from North Carolina State 
University; and 
 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 11-4-201, provides that each member 
appointed by the governor to the state forestry commission shall be confirmed by the general 
assembly; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH 
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF

state forestry commission for a term that expires on June 30, 2029.
