<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 120 By Johnson SJR0120 003464 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Britni Singleteary to the standards recommendation committee for English language arts. WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312, creates a standards recommendation committee for English language arts; and WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(a), provides that the governor shall appoint four members to the standards recommendation committee for English language arts; and WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Britni Singleteary to serve on such committee for a term that expires on December 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, Britni Singleteary has taught English language arts and social studies within the Dyer County School System since 2010; she previously served as a teacher with the Weakley County School System for five years; and WHEREAS, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Learning K-8 from the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned her Master of Arts degree in Leadership at Bethel University; and WHEREAS, a 2023 graduate of the WestTeach Leadership Program, Ms. Singleteary was the Dyer County Elementary School Teacher of the Year in 2013 and the Fifth Consolidated Elementary School Teacher of the Year in 2013 and 2020; and WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(b), provides that all appointments to the committee "shall be subject to confirmation by the senate and the house of representatives"; now, therefore, - 2 - 003464 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we confirm the appointment of Britni Singleteary to the standards recommendation committee for English language arts for a term that expires on December 31, 2025.
