1212 A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Ann B. Lee of Franklin.

1414 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
1515 the passing of Ann B. Lee of Franklin; and
1616 WHEREAS, Ann Lee was an exemplary citizen who worked assiduously to improve the
1717 quality of life for her fellow citizens in numerous capacities; and
1818 WHEREAS, born in Memphis on July 10, 1933, Cynthia Ann Bartholomew Lee was the
1919 youngest of the four children born to Byron and Cleo Bartholomew; and
2020 WHEREAS, Ann Lee graduated from Central High School in Memphis and attended
2121 Vanderbilt University, where she met her future husband, Wallace Lee; and
2222 WHEREAS, after their marriage, the Lees lived in Georgia and Virginia while Mr. Lee
2323 served in the United States Navy before the couple settled in Nashville, where he joined the
2424 family business, Lee Company; and
2525 WHEREAS, in 1964, the Lees moved to Williamson County to their cattle farm, Triple L
2626 Ranch, where they raised five children and created a life for their family centered around their
2727 love for each other and their children; and
2828 WHEREAS, a devoted mother and active member of her community, she served as a
2929 substitute teacher, a PTA officer, a Girl Scout leader, and a 4-H volunteer; she was once named
3030 Williamson County's "mother of the year"; and
3131 WHEREAS, on the family farm, Mrs. Lee helped in the fields and managed the financial
3232 operation of Triple L Ranch; for many years, she could be found on most Saturdays at the Triple
3333 L Ranch truck at the farmers market, selling beef and engaging customers; and

3838 WHEREAS, a gracious, sophisticated, and elegant woman, Ann Lee was genuine and
3939 down to earth and deeply loved by all who knew her; and
4040 WHEREAS, she was a longtime member of Woodmont Christian Church and, later in
4141 life, played piano and worshiped at Fernvale Community Church; and
4242 WHEREAS, she was also deeply devoted to her family, and she always endeavored to
4343 remain true to family values of the highest order; and
4444 WHEREAS, Mrs. Lee is survived by her children, Cynthia Lee (Lisa Preston), Carol Lee
4545 (Daniel) Fold, Governor Bill (Maria) Lee, Steven (Tina) Lee, and Abby Lee (John) Mitchell; her
4646 grandchildren, Joshua Steele, Rachel Lee Wright, Eric Fold, Jessica Lee Stowell, Amanda Lee
4747 Crossno, Justin Lee, Jacob Lee, Caleb Lee, Sarah Kate Lee Kavich, and Eli Lee; and twenty-
4848 four great-grandchildren; and
4949 WHEREAS, in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
5050 Wallace Leon Lee, and her siblings; and
5151 WHEREAS, Ann Lee leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in public
5252 life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all her chosen
5353 endeavors; and
5454 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
5555 remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
5656 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
5757 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
5858 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Ann B. Lee, reflecting
5959 fondly upon her impeccable character and her stalwart commitment to living the examined life
6060 with courage and conviction.
6161 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences
6262 to the family of Mrs. Lee.
