15	15	A RESOLUTION to commemorate National Arab American
16	16	Heritage Month.

18	18	WHEREAS, for over a century, Arab Americans have been making valuable
19	19	contributions to virtually every aspect of American society—in medicine, law, business,
20	20	education, technology, government, military service, and culture; and
21	21	WHEREAS, since migrating to America, men and women of Arab descent have shared
22	22	their rich culture and traditions with neighbors and friends while also setting fine examples of
23	23	model citizens and public servants; and
24	24	WHEREAS, they brought with them to America their resilient family values, strong work
25	25	ethic, dedication to education, and diversity in faith and creed that have added strength to our
26	26	great democracy; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Arab Americans have also enriched our society by sharing in the
28	28	entrepreneurial American spirit that makes our nation free and prosperous; and
29	29	WHEREAS, the celebration of Arab American ancestry and cultural heritage educates
30	30	our fellow Americans and counters misconceptions, harmful stereotyping, and shared
31	31	misconceptions by other ethnic groups, and
32	32	WHEREAS, Arab Americans join all Americans in the desire to see a peaceful and
33	33	diverse society, where every individual is treated equally and feels safe; and
34	34	WHEREAS, the incredible contributions and heritage of Arab Americans have helped us
35	35	build a better nation; now, therefore,

40	40	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
41	41	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
42	42	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we celebrate the contributions that Arab Americans
43	43	have made to society and commemorate the observation of National Arab American Heritage
44	44	Month this April 2025.
45	45	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
46	46	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
47	47	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
48	48	without House or Senate designation.
