<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 189 By Walley SJR0189 004161 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Teresa Allie Johnston Johnson. WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Teresa Allie Johnston Johnson; and WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson was an exemplary public servant and consummate professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for her fellow citizens in numerous capacities; and WHEREAS, born in Cook County, Illinois, on September 3, 1973, Mrs. Johnson had a deep love for art, music, nature, and animals, and her beautiful smile and contagious laugh could brighten any room; and WHEREAS, an accomplished artist and a small animal rehabilitator, Mrs. Johnson owned and operated a small boutique in Crump; and WHEREAS, deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Johnson always endeavored to remain true to family values of the highest order; her family was her greatest joy in life; and WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson joined her best friend, Shane Hardin Johnson, in marriage on February 25, 1994, and she was the proud mother of Heather Allie Johnson (Patrick Young), Megan Saraya (Brian) Rogers, and Sean Andrew (Alex) Johnson and the grandmother of Sebastian Young, Dartagnan Young, and Lilah Rogers; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson is further survived by her mother, Edith Flatt; her stepfather, Rick Schaeffer; her brothers, Ricki Schaeffer and Dylan Flatt; and many dear friends and extended family members; and - 2 - 004161 WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all her chosen endeavors; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Teresa Allie Johnston Johnson, reflecting fondly upon her impeccable character and her stalwart commitment to living the examined life with courage and conviction. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Johnson. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
