12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Teresa Allie Johnston
13	13	Johnson.

15	15	WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
16	16	the untimely passing of Teresa Allie Johnston Johnson; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson was an exemplary public servant and consummate
18	18	professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for her fellow citizens in
19	19	numerous capacities; and
20	20	WHEREAS, born in Cook County, Illinois, on September 3, 1973, Mrs. Johnson had a
21	21	deep love for art, music, nature, and animals, and her beautiful smile and contagious laugh
22	22	could brighten any room; and
23	23	WHEREAS, an accomplished artist and a small animal rehabilitator, Mrs. Johnson
24	24	owned and operated a small boutique in Crump; and
25	25	WHEREAS, deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Johnson always endeavored to remain
26	26	true to family values of the highest order; her family was her greatest joy in life; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson joined her best friend, Shane Hardin Johnson, in marriage
28	28	on February 25, 1994, and she was the proud mother of Heather Allie Johnson (Patrick Young),
29	29	Megan Saraya (Brian) Rogers, and Sean Andrew (Alex) Johnson and the grandmother of
30	30	Sebastian Young, Dartagnan Young, and Lilah Rogers; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson is further survived by her mother, Edith Flatt; her stepfather,
32	32	Rick Schaeffer; her brothers, Ricki Schaeffer and Dylan Flatt; and many dear friends and
33	33	extended family members; and

38	38	WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in
39	39	public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all her chosen
40	40	endeavors; and
41	41	WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
42	42	remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
43	43	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
44	44	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
45	45	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Teresa Allie Johnston
46	46	Johnson, reflecting fondly upon her impeccable character and her stalwart commitment to living
47	47	the examined life with courage and conviction.
48	48	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences
49	49	to the family and friends of Mrs. Johnson.
50	50	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
51	51	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
52	52	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
53	53	without House or Senate designation.
