1212 A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Teresa Allie Johnston
1313 Johnson.

1515 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
1616 the untimely passing of Teresa Allie Johnston Johnson; and
1717 WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson was an exemplary public servant and consummate
1818 professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for her fellow citizens in
1919 numerous capacities; and
2020 WHEREAS, born in Cook County, Illinois, on September 3, 1973, Mrs. Johnson had a
2121 deep love for art, music, nature, and animals, and her beautiful smile and contagious laugh
2222 could brighten any room; and
2323 WHEREAS, an accomplished artist and a small animal rehabilitator, Mrs. Johnson
2424 owned and operated a small boutique in Crump; and
2525 WHEREAS, deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Johnson always endeavored to remain
2626 true to family values of the highest order; her family was her greatest joy in life; and
2727 WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson joined her best friend, Shane Hardin Johnson, in marriage
2828 on February 25, 1994, and she was the proud mother of Heather Allie Johnson (Patrick Young),
2929 Megan Saraya (Brian) Rogers, and Sean Andrew (Alex) Johnson and the grandmother of
3030 Sebastian Young, Dartagnan Young, and Lilah Rogers; and
3131 WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson is further survived by her mother, Edith Flatt; her stepfather,
3232 Rick Schaeffer; her brothers, Ricki Schaeffer and Dylan Flatt; and many dear friends and
3333 extended family members; and

3838 WHEREAS, Teresa Johnson leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in
3939 public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all her chosen
4040 endeavors; and
4141 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
4242 remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
4343 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
4444 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
4545 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Teresa Allie Johnston
4646 Johnson, reflecting fondly upon her impeccable character and her stalwart commitment to living
4747 the examined life with courage and conviction.
4848 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences
4949 to the family and friends of Mrs. Johnson.
5050 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5151 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5252 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
